Kim,

It has taken me several days to type this to you without getting so emotional I can’t see to type. Bear with me, as I would like to share from my heart...

When I left with my two boys, three suitcases, and $40 to my name, I had no plan. I just knew it was time to remove my boys and myself; something I was trying to do for a long time. I went from sleeping on my mom’s floor with my boys on couches to a townhouse my brother by the grace of God was able to get me into, with bare necessities and an even barer fridge and pantry... To a blessing that came from your heart and all those around me.

I was prepared to start over with nothing. I was prepared to fight my way back up. I was prepared to make many sacrifices so my boys would have what they needed, even if it meant going without eating. That is what I did.

My business means so much to me. This company and those in it mean so much to me, and just when I thought we were as low as we could go... there was SPARCAS to help in lifting me onto my feet. My babies have beds, real beds, not mattresses on the floor. I have a real bed to call my own that I can actually get a good night’s rest in. (I had not had a full night’s rest due to insomnia for many months because of stress and sleeping on a couch.)

Chandler got to the point where he no longer wanted to sleep in his room in the basement on that mattress on the floor and would cry. His very first night in his new bed, he was so very excited! He quickly changed for bed, jumped right in and went right to sleep. He slept so soundly that I didn’t hear a peep out of him through the monitor that I use to listen for his seizures. He was so focused on what SPARCAS, Lisa, Becky, Gerri, Dana, Ms. Kim, and everyone else was doing for us that he brightened up out of the depression he had been in recently (due to his health going down).

Kyler, my little one, just hugged me and said, “Thank you, momma, for all these wonderful things and all our food.” I said, “Baby, mommy had many angels that helped her with all these nice things. Things are going to be better for us honey. They’re going to be much better...”

This is the beginning of our new life, a life with peace and love, a life without anger and hurt. Thank you from my heart, Kim, for showing me through my journey and on the path to my new life. Thank you for all of your love and support when we needed it most, and the biggest of all, thank you for giving me the added strength along with so many to show my boys that we’re going to be just fine.

I love you dearly and am blessed to have you as part of my life. You, SPARCAS, and my Slumber Sisters have changed my life in so many ways for the better. Now, I will go on and show just how much this single mom can accomplish and make you proud.
