SPARCAS ASSISTANCE PROGRAM IS FORMED
Slumber Parties, Inc. and its Distributors have created a new non-profit
organization that is designed to help women, especially single mothers
through various types of support. Slumber Parties Actively Restoring
Character and Spirit (SPARCAS) are based in Baton Rouge, La., but
have nationwide volunteers and projects.
SPARCAS was formed through the vision of Slumber Parties President,
Kim Brecheen. She had a desire to spread the prosperity of her company
beyond its boundaries by giving Slumber Parties Distributors a way to
help families overcome difficult situations.
The spark that truly made this organization a reality came following
Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. To help women along the Gulf Coast, Slumber
Parties Distributors from around the world sent supplies and aid. When
Kim saw this outpouring of support, she knew those working with her
company were ready to share the loving and caring nature of the Slumber
Parties sisterhood with other women.
After the hurricane project was complete, Kim set SPARCAS into motion.
A website was created to gather donations and educate Distributors and
the public about our efforts. SPARCAS.com also allows women from
anywhere to apply for assistance.
The organization accepts requests from struggling women for help in
any area of their lives. Once an application is reviewed, SPARCAS
volunteers determine the best way to proceed. A project is then
designed that will assist the applicant in getting back on her feet.
Projects can range from home improvements to job placement assistance
and can include any other type of aid deemed necessary. Some projects
will take only a short time; however, SPARCAS will dedicate itself to
working with a family for up to a year if necessary.
Projects of SPARCAS are mainly funded through donations from Slumber
Parties Distributors. However, other individuals and organizations may
also contribute to their cause.
